Last Saturday, animal activist Yolanda Berkowitz hosted a story-time event for the people and pets at Bal Harbour Shops. Benefiting the Friends of Miami Animals Foundation and Berkshire Humane Society — and taking place among the shopping center’s new floral installation Fleurs de Villes, supporting breast cancer research — it featured Pandemic Pals, a book written by 7th grader, Gabrielle Aaron and her aunt, Gillian Hotz that tells the story of Murphy, a Wheaten Terrier, who learns to adapt to Covid 19 restrictions and makes new friends when his life changes because of the lockdown.
